In Idealpos v10 Build 2 and newer, a Now Book It Gift Cards module is available separate from the full Now Book It licensed module.
If only the Now Book It Gift Cards functionality is required without the Now Book It Reservations functionality, only purchase the Now Book It Gift Cards licensed module.
The steps outlined below are similar to setting up the full Now Book It Reservation Interface, with only the required steps required to configure the Now Book It Gift Cards listed below.
Refer to the Configuring Now Book It topic for screenshots that correspond to the steps below, taking into consideration the notes below to setup only the Gift Cards functionality.
Steps to configure and use this functionality are outlined below:
Ensure that the Now Book It Gift Cards module appears for each POS Terminal that requires this functionality.
Purchase the module from Idealpos or your Idealpos Reseller.
Once purchased, go to: Back Office > Setup > Licence Gateway > Reload and check the Options column to ensure "Now Book It Gift Cards" appears.
Go to: Back Office > Setup > Tender Types > Locate the next unused Tender Type (unused Tender Types will show as Tender #, with # being the number of the Tender) > Modify.

Configure any other options as required.
An account will need to be created with Now Book It.

Go to: Back Office > Setup > Global Options > Interfaces > Reservations.
Interface Type: Now Book It
The Customer Type, Link to User-Defined Status Buttons and Deposit Tender Type options can be ignored.
Enable the "Gift Cards" checkbox > select the Gift Card Redeem Tender Type configured above.
Gift Override API Key: Enter the API Key provided by Now Book It.
Perform a Close Suite/Open Suite to apply changes on each POS Terminal.
Go to: Start Menu > Idealpos > IPSUtils > Close > Confirm Close Suite > Start Idealpos.
Now Book It Gift Cards can be redeemed by simply selecting the Now Book It Gift Card Tender Type and entering or scanning the Now Book It Gift Card.
